Investing huge resources in different parts of economic and industrial sectors to increase and promote public welfare and also, provide opportunities for country`s reserves’ growth. Therefore, identifying accurate opportunities for investment is critical, since it helps investors to know the maximum benefits to the economy coupled with the greatest influences in removing the country`s economic problems and difficulties, especially in employment. This article investigates the relationship between investments, employment and the financial performance of the active cooperative enterprises of Fars province in Iran. Based on the considered conditions, 120 firms were selected from the population on the basis of the classified random sampling method during the period 2006-2011. The findings indicate that there is a positive and meaningful relationship between investment and employment in cooperative enterprises. Also, the results show that there is a significant difference among the financial performance of cooperative enterprises in different sectors on the basis of invested capital. Specifically, the increasing investments in agricultural and industrial sectors have led to higher Return On Assets (ROA) ratio.

International Journal of Finance & Banking Studies · 2012

Read abstract

Theories associated with job satisfaction are based on the principle that all environmental elements could shape entire career satisfaction.  In literature, major studies illustrate that positive and negative emotions are largely associated with job satisfaction. Job satisfaction source is not only job position but also other factors such as the physical and social work environment, relationships with supervisors and colleagues, group culture and management style of the managers.  In this study, it is aimed to evaluate and prioritize the five dimensions of job satisfaction in Zanjan Refah Bank employees: (i) the nature of the job (ii) supervisor, (iii) peer, (iv) promotion and (v) payment. In this study a field research was applied with a survey study. To testify the hypothesis, the Pearson parametric and Friedman test was conducted. The major findings of this study are (i) there is a negative correlation exists between level of education and nature of the job  (ii) job promotion and payment, (iii) there is not any significant differences in job satisfaction between men and women.

Finding shortest path in static networks

Seher Abbasi · Fahimeh Moosavi

International Journal of Finance & Banking Studies · 2012

Read abstract

This paper considers the problem of finding the shortest path in a static network, where the costs are constant. The CE Algorithm based strategy that is presented by Rubinstein to solving rare event and combinatorial optimization problem is modified to finding shortest path in this research. To analyze the efficiency of the used algorithm three sets of small, medium and large sized problems that generated randomly are solved. The results on the set of problems show that the modified algorithm produces good solutions and time saving in computation of large-scale network.
