This study explored the effects of financial literacy and financial behavior on the financial well-being of 360 academic personnel of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Region 1, Philippines. Data were gathered from August 2020 to March 2021 using a self-administered survey questionnaire instrument. This was used to assess the respondents' financial well-being, literacy, and financial behavior, and Pearson’s r was used to test the relationships among the variables. It was found that most of the teachers generally experience moderate financial security rather than financial stress. They were assessed with excellent scores on their financial literacy and most were found to have good financial behavior. It was determined that their financial behavior affected their financial well-being. On the other hand, their financial literacy did not significantly affect their financial well-being. Hence, this study recommends that a financial wellness program tailored for the respondents should focus more on behavior-changing financial coaching rather than financial concepts learning.

The study aimed to examine the effect of organizational politics on the individual work performance of employees. To support the study, literature was reviewed and theories were identified and explained. It was carried out following research methodology in terms of research design, population, the locale of the study, research instruments, and statistical treatment of data. The study found that the organizational politics of the institution is at a moderate level and the individual work performance was also at a moderate level. It is further found that there is a significant correlation between organizational politics and individual work performance. Thus, it is concluded that organizational politics is a significant predictor of organizational performance. The study found that a moderate level of organizational politics affects individual work performance positively and therefore it confirms the finding of other studies that organizational politics is not inherently bad or negative.

Entrepreneurs play pivotal roles that affect the economy. These roles are job creation, wealth generation, economic growth, and innovation. According to WorldBank data, they account for around 90% of enterprises and more than half of all jobs in the globe. In emerging economies, formal SMEs account for up to 40% of national income (GDP). The prolonged effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in job losses have encouraged even the Filipino Generation Z to engage in entrepreneurial activities. This supports various studies conducted by research firms recently that 54% of Generation Z wanted to start their own business venture. Thus, this research aims to determine the influence of entrepreneurial attitude, social valuation, entrepreneurial skills, and entrepreneurial knowledge on entrepreneurial intention. There were 110 Generation Z respondents who answered the adopted survey questionnaire. The researchers were able to secure permission from the original author to use the research instrument. The research utilized a quantitative research design primarily descriptive-correlational. The data were processed using regression analysis to test the relationship of variables. The regression results preceded the acceptance of the 4 hypotheses which means that entrepreneurial attitude, social valuation, entrepreneurial skills, and entrepreneurial knowledge significantly influence entrepreneurial intention. The results will be considerably useful to academics to promote entrepreneurship from high school to college level, to future entrepreneurs in identifying the factors that influence entrepreneurial intention, to the government and its regulators for policy development, and to researchers who plan to expand the literature on the entrepreneurial mind.

The study used the descriptive correlational research design. The total enumeration was the sampling design of the study. It used questionnaires to gather the data. The study found that the teachers' self-efficacy is very high along the three dimensions of teachers' self-efficacy which include self-efficacy in student engagement, instructional strategies, and classroom management. While teachers' job satisfaction was considered high, not very high along the two dimensions such as satisfaction with the work itself and personal growth and career development. The study aimed to determine the influence of the attitude of employees toward work and work environment toward work self-efficacy. To deepen the understanding of the study, literature was reviewed and theories were established. The study used the descriptive correlational research design and it used questionnaires to gather the data. The study found that the cognitive attitude of employees toward work is high but the work environment is at a moderate level. Taking the independent variables together, both are correlated to the work self-efficacy of employees. It means that both, attitude toward work and work environment can affect work self-efficacy. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is accepted.

The population of the study was all employees of the Divine Word College of Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. The Multilinear regression analysis was used to determine the correlation and the analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the difference of self-efficacy among employees based on educational attainment and the length of work experience. The study found that the self-efficacy of employees was high and there is a correlation between educational attainment and self-efficacy and the length of work experience and self-efficacy. It is also found that there is a significant difference in self-efficacy among employees based on educational attainment and the length of work experience. This study aimed to determine the effect of bureaucratic management on the workplace well-being of the Divine Word Colleges. To establish the theoretical foundation of the study, related literature was reviewed. The study used descriptive assessment and correlational research design and the data were gathered through research questionnaires. To interpret the data, descriptive and inferential statistics were used, and therefore, weighted mean was used to determine the level of bureaucratic management, and workplace well-being. While Pearson r correlation was used to determine the correlation between bureaucratic management and workplace well-being. The finding of the study indicated that there is no correlation between bureaucratic management and workplace well-being. Therefore, the hypothesis of the study is rejected. The output of this study contributes to a complex discussion about the effect of bureaucratic management on workplace well-being.

This study examines the relationship between the working capital management practices and sustainability of Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBEs) in Ilocos Norte, Philippines. This study employed a correlational-descriptive research design. Data were gathered using a self-constructed questionnaire, which has been pre-tested to 30 other microenterprises and validated using Cronbach alpha. The participants were the owners of the 301 registered BMBEs in Ilocos Norte. This study was conducted from July to December 2020. The findings demonstrated that most of the BMBEs belong to the wholesale and retail trade sector, are registered as single proprietorships, and have no employees. The results also showed that the BMBEs have low economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Moreover, the study revealed that cash management was significantly related to economic and social sustainability, while accounts receivable and inventory management were significantly related to economic, social, and environmental sustainability.

Core values are critical to an organization’s identity, mission, strategy, and success. Harmonizing personal values and the core values espoused by the organization addresses congruence gaps and ensures that the actions of employees are consistent and aligned with organizational strategies. This study aims to identify the HR management practices of a University in Manila, Philippines that promote the congruence between the personal values of employees and the core values of the organization. The qualitative research methodology was utilized to identify practices in the areas of Recruitment and Selection, Performance Management System, and Training and Development that promote congruence of values. Semi-structured interviews of key University officials were conducted using open-ended questions. A review of relevant and pertinent documents was also undertaken. The three identified HR functional areas are highlighted because these are critical in the selection, motivation, and retention of high-quality employees. Leveraging HR management practices to promote congruence entails that the values of the organization are well-defined. Employees must understand how these are translated into workplace behaviors and actions. It must be clearly laid down how these relate to their performance and the impact these have on the achievement of the overall goals of the organization.

Price-Earning Ratio or P/E Multiple is a widely used, straightforward investment assessment tool in developed countries. However, the method has not been utilized as much in stock market performance analysis in developing countries such as the Philippines. Using the top ten universal banks in the country, this paper utilized Price-Earnings Ratio [PER] as valuation tool and dependent variable, and sought to determine its value drivers. Used as independent variables are macroeconomic variables gross domestic product [GDP] growth rate, inflation rate, annual interest rate; stock market index Philippine Stock Exchange [PSEi]; and firm-specific variables return on equity [ROE], growth rate of ROE, growth rate of earnings per share, dividend payout ratio [DPO, growth rate of income, and price-book value [PBV] ratio. Results showed that among the independent variables, ROE, PBV ratio, and PSE index are statistically significant. The model’s (R2) is 63.7%, which is a fairly good fit.
