The purpose of this research is to contribute to the development of the accounting process and disclosure in the context of the disruption that brings in artificial intelligence by providing an integrated framework, from the perspective of internal development of accounting processes to the external requirements of the disclosure. The framework is based on the following five pillars: digital transformation policies; influence of artificial intelligence on the quality of accounting information; basic principles of intelligent models; governance mechanisms; and related risks. This is a descriptive and analytical study. It discussed the theoretical background and accounting implications of artificial intelligence, proposed a disclosure framework, and then it utilized content and gap analysis to determine to what extent the considered annual report met the requirements of the frameworkThe above analysis was based on the 2024 annual report of Asiacell Communications Company-Private Joint Stock Company. The disclosures of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, applications in accounting and finance, information quality, governance, and technological risk were selected and analyzed together with 24 disclosure items based on the proposed framework. The findings show a large disparity between the technological sophistication of the company and its level of accounting disclosure on artificial intelligence. The fermentations described in the present disclosure examples were at 25%, but only 25% of the disclosures were reached, and disclosures of assumptions underlying predictive models and related risks were missing. The results also suggest that the introduced framework, if adopted, would cover all the 24 disclosure items with a maximum proposed disclosure score of 100%.Also, based on model assumptions, data sources, levels of confidence, responsibilities in governance, and procedures for verification, transparency would be increased, the credibility of accounting estimates would be strengthened, the level of information uncertainty would be decreased, and the level of investor confidence in financial reports produced in an artificial intelligence milieu would be enhanced

The study's overarching goal is to confirm the reality of internal control system in the Iraqi General Tax Authority's is compatible with the most recent version of the COSO-framework and to measure the impact of adopting its components as evaluation criteria on tax revenues. By surveying a sample of senior and middle management members within the General Tax Authority, the researcher designed a questionnaire containing (93) questions as a means of measuring the study's two variables, the internal control system as the independent factor, with tax revenues serving as the dependent variable, and assessed according to the standards and guidelines of the COSO-framework. A five-part matrix including "control environment", "risk assessment", "control activities", "information & communication", and "monitoring" formed the basis of the study. The entity under examination had an average level of application of the COSO-framework's internal control elements, according to the study results. Furthermore, it only showed a statistically substantial impact on the control activities and control environment components of the framework, while the remaining components had no significant effect. This may indicate the possibility of functional overlap between them, and that their effect does not appear independently except in actual integration with the rest of the framework components, which is consistent with the integrative nature of the COSO framework. The results also indicate deficiencies in the implementation of some internal control elements, which negatively impacted tax revenues. The study concluded that the Tax Administration must restructure its internal control system by adopting international control frameworks, most notably the COSO-framework. It highlights the importance of issuing formal legislation that imposes on the government sector the necessity of adopting an integrated internal control system that serves as a guide for government units to guarantee the efficacy and efficiency of governance control.

The current research aims to examine the accounting of digital assets by linking accounting measurement theory to financial disclosure requirements, in light of the challenges related to the absence of specialized international accounting standards for digital assets. The research was divided into two parts: theoretical and applied. The theoretical part included a review of the literature related to accounting measurement (historical cost, fair value, and impairment model) and financial disclosure requirements according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IAS/IFRS) and American standards (FASB, AICPA, and SEC). The applied part used a questionnaire and administered to a sample of financial report users, including academics and professionals, to obtain their opinions on the adequacy of current measurement models, financial disclosure requirements, and shortcomings in international standards. It also explored the possibility of formulating an integrated framework for measuring and disclosing digital assets. The results of the analysis of the questionnaire showed that fair value measurement is more appropriate for the nature of digital assets than traditional models, with the need to enhance disclosure of risks associated with price volatility, liquidity, and operational risks. It also showed that the absence of a specific accounting standard for digital assets leads to poor comparability and increased variation in accounting practices across economic entities. Based on the survey results, an integrated theoretical framework for accounting for digital assets was proposed. This framework includes principles of recognition, measurement, and disclosure, and contributes to achieving the objectives of financial reporting in accordance with the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) conceptual framework, ensuring relevance, accurate representation, comparability, clarity, and timeliness. The study concluded that developing a specialized accounting framework for digital assets represents a strategic necessity to ensure the reliability and transparency of financial reporting and enhance user confidence, given the rapid growth in the adoption of digital assets within global economic activities.

This paper portrays the literature on voluntary corporate disclosure via social media networks over the course of two decades (2002-2022) through a content analysis framework. Focusing on papers in English, Turkish and Arabic, it reviews a total of 65 studies from 15 countries, based on number of posts, type of information disclosure, time span and social media platforms used. Additionally, it provides a detailed break-down of the reported effect between voluntary disclosures on social media and a total of 37 different variables used to proxy for market, accounting, corporate governance and firm-specific (size, age and risk) measures. Drawing from an exhaustive analysis encompassing more than 51 thousand companies and nearly 70 million social media posts, the prevailing body of knowledge pertaining to corporate disclosures via social media predominantly hinges upon empirical evidence based on the United States and the United Kingdom. We feel that more country comparison studies and multi-lingual samples as well as meta-analyses could significantly improve our understanding of this field.

Notwithstanding the increasing acknowledgment of prominence of Brand Loyalty (BL), in business performance, research efforts directed at investigating the relationship among Brand Service Quality (ServQ), Brand Experience (BE), Brand Trust (BT) and Brand Loyalty (BL) in the context of Kurdistan Region internet service industry, have largely been neglected. Therefore, the principal objective of this study is to fill this void. Service quality in this research is measured in two dimensions: technical and functional, while BE is measured in four dimensions: sensory, affective, intellectual, and behavioral. In particular, the current study seeks to explore the direct effects of Technical Service Quality (TQ) and Functional Service Quality (FQ) on consumer BE, BT and BL; and the mediating role of BE in brand service quality – brand trust relationship. Moreover, the direct impact of BT on BL along with the mediating role of BT in the BE-BL relationship will also be examined. To empirically test the posited research hypotheses, data is collected from internet consumers in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil provinces of the Kurdistan region in Iraq. In total, 485 internet users were interviewed in the region. The collected data were analyzed using IBM AMOS 23. Findings demonstrate that the Technical Quality of internet services impacts Brand Experience more positively than Functional Quality does. On the contrary, Functional Quality affects the customer Brand Trust directly while Technical Quality does not have any direct impact on the customer Brand Trust. Secondly, It is also observed that Brand Experience significantly mediates the relations between Technical Quality and Brand Trust. The direct impact of the Functional Quality on Brand Trust was stronger than the mediation effect of Brand Experience between Functional Quality and Brand Trust. It was observed that Brand Trust had a significant impact on customer Brand Loyalty. Lastly, Brand Trust significantly mediates the relations between Brand Experience and Brand Loyalty.

This paper examines the impact of the September 11th attacks on the United States financial and non-financial sectors. The empirical analysis includes 5 financial and 28 non-financial sub-sector indices using the event study method, structural break test, and volatility analyses. The results of the estimation show that except for the short-lived impact on the real estate sector, the attacks had no significant impact on financial sector indices. Different reactions among non-financial sectors are observed. Travel and leisure and leisure goods sectors were the two industries that were mostly affected by the attacks due to the nature of their business. The outcomes of the analyses provide several diversification strategies and speculation opportunities for both portfolio managers and investors.

This paper attempts to find out why higher institution students in Duhok are not opening or having bank accounts. With the use of interview process and questionnaire, 100 students were selected from Newroz University, Dohok Polytechnic University and Dohok private technical institute in Duhok city. It was found from this study that most of these students’ approximately 90 students of them have no bank accounts while only 10 of them have bank accounts. Moreover, this research found that trust on banks, security, bad banks infrastructure, lack of money, costs of opening bank accounts, access to bank accounts and unemployment are the main reasons for low banking interest among students in Duhok city. However, the highest reason is lack of trust on Duhok banks and lack of money due to high unemployment rate. It is suggested that banks in Duhok city should encourage students to open bank accounts by advertising the importance of banking services and offer student loans. Also, Duhok government should award scholarship to student to ease the pressure from the unemployment menace in the country.

Non-tariff measures such as food safety and technical standards are used to achieve the non-trade objective of protecting consumers’ health and safety. On the other hand, they can also be deployed as a trade secure tool to drive a price wedge between foreign and domestic producers. This study investigates the protectionist tools of 34 developing countries food safety standards using a sample of developing countries food imported from developed and other developing countries with a specific focus on vegetables, Trunks, machinery, and tobacco. We employ theoretical framework of gravity equation by applying SGMM estimation. Our results indicate that vegetable and machinery variables are negative and statistically significant. Meaning that both variables have a negative impact on GDP, in other words, both variables are not support GDP and economic growth in the developing countries. Finally, Trunk variable is positive and statistically significant. It shows that, this variable leads to promote economic growth in the developing countries. While Tobacco is positive and statistically insignificant, meaning that this product is not play an important role in the trade sector in our sample countries.
