Impulse purchases play a vital role in the sales revenue of shopping malls. This study utilized the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework to explore how shopping mall atmosphere stimulates consumer emotions, thereby impacting impulse purchase behavior. Structural equation modeling was employed for data analysis. The findings revealed that both positive and negative emotions can act as mediators in the process of forming impulse purchase behavior, albeit with distinct and sometimes antagonistic effects. This phenomenon is attributed to the differential impact of the service atmosphere on stimulating consumer emotions. Additionally, the study identified that only positive emotions can serve as mediators between spatial atmosphere and impulse purchases. In essence, stimuli in the shopping environment can influence consumer emotional responses, thereby prompting impulse purchase behavior.

This study systematically reviews literature to explore the Moderated Mediation Model of Customer Intention in Omnichannel Technology, particularly under the transformative influence of technologies like AI, AR, and big data analytics. Amidst evolving consumer expectations and the drastic shifts induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the retail industry's shift from multichannel to omnichannel strategies has become crucial. This review analyzes 59 studies published between 2018 and April 2023 to discern the dynamics influencing customer intention within the omnichannel framework. Our research highlights the sparse but critical discourse on the mediating roles of perceived value and trust and the moderating effects of factors like age and product involvement. Although extensive, the literature reveals gaps, particularly in unified frameworks integrating these diverse insights. We propose a novel conceptual framework centered on these mediators and moderators to better understand and harness customer intentions toward omnichannel technology adoption. Key findings indicate that seamless integration across online and offline channels, responsive to the nuanced needs and behaviors of consumers, significantly enhances customer engagement and loyalty. This synthesis not only offers a consolidated view of the omnichannel retail landscape but also provides strategic pathways for retailers aiming to optimize customer interactions and satisfaction in a digitally dominated era. Our review contributes to the omnichannel retail literature by offering a structured overview of the factors driving customer intentions and suggesting directions for future research to bridge identified gaps, particularly through longitudinal studies and expanded demographic analyses.

This study investigates the intricate relationship between omni-channel retailing, high-end sustainable footwear, and customer satisfaction within an emerging market context. With a focus on Generation Z consumers, the research delves into the correlation between customisation, pricing, customer service, personalisation, and supply chain transparency as precursors of customer satisfaction in the high-end sustainable footwear fashion sector. The study is grounded in the recognition of the growing importance of sustainability in the fashion industry, whereby eco-conscious consumption is on the rise. The research addresses the gap in fragmented studies on omni-channel retail strategies in the high-end sustainable market. Utilising a positivist quantitative research approach, the researcher employs a convenience sampling technique by collecting data from a total sample of 268 Generation Z consumers who have purchased high-end sustainable footwear from South African omni-channel retailers. A structured online survey questionnaire, featuring five Likert-scale questions is used for data collection. The researcher proposes hypotheses that are tested primarily by utilising the latest SPSS version. The results of the study demonstrate that customisation, price, customer service, personalisation and supply chain transparency all positively influence customer satisfaction with regard to high-end sustainable footwear. The significance of the study lies in its potential to contribute valuable insights for high-end sustainable footwear omni-channel retailers in an emerging market, enabling them to enhance customer satisfaction levels and align with the growing demand for environmentally friendly and ethically sourced sustainable fashion. Additionally, the research aims to fill existing knowledge gaps in the South African market and contribute to the global discourse on sustainable fashion and consumer behaviour.

The aim of this paper is to find out whether there is a relationship between the intensity of using Tiktok, utilitarian value, hedonic value, and impulse buying. TikTok is a social commerce with a live shopping service that provides convenience in online shopping and allows direct interaction with sellers while browsing social media without switching applications. This study uses the stimulus-organism-response (SOR) theory, dividing the stimulus into internal and external factors. Internal factors include utilitarian value and hedonic value, while external factors are the intensity of use of the TikTok application. Respondents in this study are married women who use Tiktok. This research is causality research with a total sample of 120 respondents. The data collection method uses a questionnaire and is analyzed using SEM-PLS. The findings of this study indicate that the intensity of TikTok use significantly affects impulse purchases. However, utilitarian and hedonic values have no significant effect on impulse purchases. For the mediating effect, the impulse to buy impulsively mediates the relationship between the intensity of TikTok use and the hedonic value of impulse buying. However, it does not mediate the utilitarian value of impulse buying.

As of 2020, the retail sector faced an existential challenge with rapid changes as one of the many sectors. The recent impact was noted due to the present COVID-19 pandemic throughout the world. Most customers have moved on with e-commerce platforms, while traditional customers still struggle with in-store shopping. This study was specifically aimed at the conventional customers who do in-store shopping in complexes. The objective of this study was to investigate the moderating effect of the demographic factors on post-purchase regret at malls. Two factors affecting post-purchase regret, namely, the number of alternatives forgone and the return process experience, were considered. Accordingly, the moderating effects of demographic factors of consumers who have purchased something from a shopping mall during the past two years were targeted for this. By conducting an online survey using a structured questionnaire, 383 responses were collected. Through the moderation effect analysis, the consumer career was identified as moderating variable for this relationship. The rest of the demographic factors considered for this study did not significantly moderate this relationship. The findings suggest that the number of alternatives in showcase must be limited with a sense of marketing. Further, the staff at the shop must provide proper guidance on the return process and related service by identifying loyal and non-loyal customers’ careers and lifestyles.

Definition of store image is argued to be useful if it predicts phenomena such as satisfaction, loyalty, customer retention and other attitudinal and behavioral outcomes. Previous researches show that customers are affected by the store attributes and consider them to assess perceived benefits and attitudes. One of the biggest challenges for companies is to build a positive image. Knowing the alternatives which could be used to form a positive image is an important issue. A positive image which is created in the customer’s mind about store is seen to have a strong and positive influence on satisfaction. A satisfied customer is likely to be loyal to the store. Therefore, image and customer satisfaction gain importance in the stores which aim to survive. This study focuses on store image, customer satisfaction and the relationship between them. The study primarily explains these two concepts, and then provides a literature review on the researches related with them. The study presents researches in which store image and customer satisfaction are separately discussed, thus it also shows other variables which can be influential on these concepts. Implications for both store image theory and practices are discussed. The literature review reveals that store image plays an important role in customer satisfaction. Since most of the studies in literature are based on retail industry, in this study ‘store’ concept mostly refers to ‘retail store’.

The study’s research model suggests that store design and ease of shopping are associated with customer retention through a mediated pathway in which store design and ease of shopping influence perceived store satisfaction, which in turn, influences customer retention. This survey was administered to two separate clothing stores offered to either females or males (in total, 533 participants). Using structural equation modelling methodology, data was analysed to explain the interrelations among the variables in the model. The results of an empirical study of a sample of store shoppers revealed that store design and ease of shopping influence customer retention in an indirect way through customer perception of satisfaction with the store. In building store satisfaction that is centred on customer retention, store design and shopping ease differ in their relative influences. This difference is high for females, but for men as low as to be considered negligible in males. As a result, improving customers’ perceptions of store design and ease of shopping is a way to ensure store satisfaction support customer retention. The results of the study provide a new insight into the relationships by suggesting indirect effects of shopping ease and store design on consumer retention by their impacts on store satisfaction, rather than direct effects.
