This study examines the effect of work professionalism, job satisfaction and organizational climate on employee performance in Muaradua Hospital employees. This study uses explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The population of this study included all Muaradua Regional General Hospital paramedics with a work period of more than one year. The sampling method is saturated, and the data collection technique uses questionnaire distribution. The data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling (SEM-PLS). The results of this study indicate that work professionalism, job satisfaction, and organizational climate can directly improve employee performance. In addition, work professionalism and job satisfaction can improve the organizational climate. Organizational climate becomes partially mediating the relationship between work professionalism and job satisfaction on employee performance. The results of this study suggest that the hospital should be able to maintain professionalism and encourage job satisfaction, as well as create and improve strategies for factors related to organizational climate.

Our brain has nearly 100 billion nerve cells, responsible for sensory perception and serving as a memory for all the information processed by the body. The brain is, therefore, the basis of cognition and emotions. This article aims to present the origins and the development timeline of neuromarketing from the first studies of the unconscious mind to the use of neurosciences techniques in the consumer behavior field. Therefore, the research method used in this paper is a systematic literature review based on a multidisciplinary theoretical exploration of events concerning the development of neuromarketing from 2010 to 2018. The paper theoretically proves that neuromarketing is the only field of research that induces the existence of unconscious, implicit, subliminal, and emotional processes that cannot be approached without the contribution of neurosciences. Still, its ethical nature limits its use and requires researchers to comply with specific regulations to protect consumers from possible risks of illegal exploitation. The results of this systematic literature review have shown that using neurosciences in marketing is crucial since it allows researchers to consider the unconscious and automatic elements in consumer decision-making.

This study used secondary data from World Development Indicators to examine the implication of the Russia-Ukraine war on Trade relations and Foreign Direct Investment flows into other parts of the world. Data from 85 countries between 2012 and 2021 were analyzed using the generalized method of moments (GMM) technique. Findings revealed that the coefficients of export goods, international trade represented by external trade, food exports and fuel exports had positive and significant results from both panels and all the sub-regions, except for Europe, which revealed a mixed result. Conversely, results from food imports, military expenditure, fuel imports and fossil energy consumption revealed negative but significant results, except food imports in Europe showed an insignificant result. Conclusively, the findings of this study revealed that the current war has increased military expenditure, which has caused a significant setback to FDI and trade relations. This has undermined both bilateral and multilateral trade relations and cut off supply chains, markets, and value chains that have long existed before the crisis amongst countries across the globe. Therefore, world leaders should do everything possible to restore peace between these two countries because it will do the world better than their selfish desires. In addition, if the war degenerates more than this, it would not only be injurious to the global market, trade routes, economy and FDI but can lead the world to another world war. Conclusively, this study will help world countries, governments, leaders, policymakers, investors, and companies in various decision-making endeavors, including war-related decisions. World leaders with management crisis skills who can unite nations should help mediate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine to restore peace. However, further studies are still required on this ongoing war for scholarly guidance as there are still limited empirical studies in the world literature regarding this crisis.

The study aimed to examine the effect of political interference on procurement performance in Tanzania's parastatal organization. It was specifically intended to investigate the impact of political interference on the contract award, project allocation, and legal framework implementation on procurement performance and make some recommendations for improvement. The data were collected from heads of departments at 93 parastatal organizations in Dar es Salaam using structured questionnaires. The study's population consisted of 712 respondents, with a sample size of 256 randomly selected, but only 241 questionnaires were returned, completed, and used for analysis. The data were descriptively and inferentially analyzed using a multiple regression analysis with the help of SPSS version 26. The finding shows that political interference in contract award and legal framework implementation negatively influences procurement performance. In contrast, political interference in project allocation positively impacts procurement performance. The study implied that the procuring entity should ensure that politicians were not involved in the procurement process and that only authorized officers were allowed to participate.

This study aims to investigate the association between non-performing loans (NPLs) and the profitability of banks in Bangladesh. The data of twenty-five listed banks for the twelve years spanning from 2010 to 2021 have been analyzed to achieve the research objective. through the use of the ordinary least square (OLS) regression model, we found that the NPL has a negative significant impact on the profitability determined by the return on asset (ROA). In addition, the study revealed that the bank size, which is represented by banks’ total assets, is also inversely related to the profitability of the sample banks used in this research. The study concludes that the stakeholders, particularly the management of the banks, as well as the regulators, should be more cautious about NPLs and should try to lessen the level of NPLs because it can bring devastating results both on the microeconomic as well as on macroeconomic metrics of a developing country like Bangladesh.

The principal aim of this article, among other crucial determinants, is to elucidate that folklore systemically can be utilised for the sustainable development of tourism in South Africa and in the global sphere. The sociological perspective, through argumentation, is deployed to debate and demonstrate how and why folklore should be gauged and appreciated as an instrument of promoting South Africa’s socioeconomic and development plan. Through the discussions and findings, it becomes evident, therein, that folklore has not been accorded the opportunity to partake in tourism in most African countries, and in particular, South Africa. Given that, it becomes part of the article’s sociological debates to conclusively demonstrate, by appointing three folklore types, how folklore can address the problematised phenomenon. The concluding remarks challenge folklore and tourism scholars to collaboratively open and continue the discourse to serve the country's just and legitimate course. The significance of the article rests on the veracity that folklore and tourism have not been scholarly positioned as complementing or corroborating components in South Africa and elsewhere in the global sphere.

The study's primary objective was to analyze the effectiveness of e-customer service platforms on customer satisfaction in commercial banks in Botswana, using ABSA bank as a case study. The secondary objectives were to assess the effectiveness of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles of e-customer service platforms on customer satisfaction at ABSA bank. A positivist research philosophy was adopted. A cross-sectional survey design was used to collect data and probability sampling was employed. Data were collected from 180 customers who use ABSA e-customer services platforms using a structured questionnaire with Likert-type questions. Reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha (?). Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, which include mean and standard deviation. Regression and correlation were applied to test research hypotheses. Results indicate that reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangibles of e-customer services platforms at ABSA are positively linked to customer satisfaction. ABSA Bank management is therefore recommended to focus on continuous improvement on customer experiences to satisfy customers. Thus, ABSA should ensure that its services are unique, unforgettable and memorable such that customers are satisfied and share the positive word of mouth about the benefits offered by the bank. ABSA should also consider customer experience and continuous improvement of digital banking platforms as tools that can be used to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty. It is recommended that future studies be carried out across other banks in Botswana and the African context as well.

The study's objective was to analyse the relationship between corporate governance attributes and financial reporting quality from a developing country perspective. Data was collected through quantitative content analysis of annual reports and audited financial statements (2012 to 2018) of Zambian-listed companies. This was a longitudinal study that involved panel data analysis. Therefore, a Hausman test was conducted to select the model to use. Panel regression analysis was used as a data analysis technique. Results show a statistically significant positive relationship between board size and financial reporting quality. A positive but statistically insignificant relationship existed between board accounting expertise, board gender diversity, audit committee independence and financial reporting quality. A negative but insignificant relationship existed between board independence and financial reporting quality. The corporate governance system alone cannot guarantee quality financial information by reporting entities. This could be related to the lack of an effective corporate governance system. Therefore, authorities must consider strengthening the regulatory enforcement mechanisms to ensure that companies achieve high financial reporting quality.

Recently, demographic factors that influence financial literacy have become increasingly important for policymakers than ever before. The primary purpose of this study was to establish the relationship between demographic factors and financial literacy among adults in a rural and low-income areas of South Africa. The objectives were to determine which gender uses a budget, which age cohort keeps copies of financial documents, which category of education level is saving for retirement, and the correlation between education level and saving for retirement. Descriptive statistics and correlation analysis were used to analysed data. The results showed that males used a budget more than females by a low margin. Adults struggled to keep copies of financial documents; however, adults between the ages of 41-50 kept copies of financial documents the most. Those with matric were better savers for retirement than other levels of education, besides the fact that most adults were not saving for retirement. The study also revealed a negative correlation between education level and retirement savings. Thus, the relationship between demographic factors and financial literacy was negative. The study concludes by suggesting interventions that could help adults improve their financial literacy and manage and sustain their financial well-being.

Leadership is a core component of organizational management, but its functions are getting more complex with the increasing involvement of changes taking place in the world. As such, the complicated operation of managing cognitive rigidity as a form of resistance to change amongst employees is very critical. On the other hand, resistance to change is described as one of the impediments to organizational expansion due to its negative consequences. To cope with change, there is a need for an effective leadership style. This study focuses on the association between change leadership styles, i.e., transformational and transactional leadership styles with cognitive rigidity as a form of resistance to change. The study further seeks to investigate the impact of these leadership styles on employees’ resistance to cognitive rigidity at the selected automobile dealerships in the Durban Metropolitan Region of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Theories on change and leadership styles have been considered in this paper. A descriptive survey design was adopted to collect information from a stratified sample size using self-administered questionnaires to 170 staff at automotive dealerships in the metropolitan of Durban in South Africa. Pearson correlational and regression analysis were employed to analyze data. Results indicated significant correlations between these change leadership styles and cognitive rigidity as a form of resistance to change. However, the transactional leadership style revealed a more substantial possibility of increasing resistance to change. The study recommends that management practice the transformational leadership style to encourage employee participation in the decision, build confidence, accept constructive criticisms, effective communication and transparency, thereby reducing rigidity.

E-commerce is gaining popularity due to its importance for both merchants and consumers, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, which restricts mass movement and gathering, as well as the high costs associated with traveling to different markets. Despite mounting evidence demonstrating the importance of internet in retails business, little is known about the potential mechanisms that increase consumer purchasing intentions when using online shopping platforms. In today's high customer sensitivity to service quality, successful entrepreneurs have recently thrived under competitive pressures. Online transactions are more difficult because buyers and sellers do not know each other, yet they must provide financial information to intermediaries. Thus, it is now clear that increasing customer trust is a viable strategy for driving e-business success today. Considering this, a new model demonstrating a potential mechanism that increases customers' trust in intermediaries and thus leads to their online purchasing intentions was developed. This innovative model connects website quality to the online purchasing intentions of the customers, using trust in intermediaries as a mediator and moderating the effect of perceived usefulness. To prove or disprove the assumptions highlighted in this study, a cross-sectional research design was used with data from 568 clients of nine domestic e-commerce platforms operating in Rwanda. To investigate the relationship between the variables hypothesized in this study, a variety of methods and tools were used. To assess the potential effect of each variable in this model, we used CFA in SEM-Amos, mean and standard deviation in SPSS, and Hayes macro process. The overall results obtained using the various techniques specified supported the current hypothesized model. We believe that the current study provided an innovative and useful mechanism as one of the potential solutions for today's merging online businesses.
